Unilever 2010 AAC Supply Chain Mega Virtual Event
Dates: 29 November 2010
Venue: Suntec City Convention Centre, Singapore

It's gotten bigger this year! For the second consecutive time, Unilever Supply Chain came together virtually, with more than 1500 people online, spanning 30 cities, 50 nationalities and 12 time zones.

The event opened with an Internet Collaboration video that was filmed entirely on web cameras and sent in by Unilever employees all across the world. The combined efforts put in by everyone led to a truly remarkable piece which showcased the unity of the Supply Chain together as one. The result earned praises from Harish Manwani, President, Unilever AAC who touted it as "the best opening he'd (I'd) ever seen".

Leveraging the technology used at last year's event, the audience in Singapore connected with their colleagues all over the world for 5 hours which included 6 virtual "break-out" sessions where countries enjoyed multi-way discussions. A panel discussion, moderated by Rico Hizon, news anchor on BBC News, also provided a platform for everyone to submit their questions to the SC and Business Leaders.

By going virtual, Unilever successfully reduced their environmental footprint in the world, which resonates with Unilever's Sustainable Living Plan to increase their quality of life – without increasing their environmental impact.
